Youth Career Exploration Thursday, September 7, 2017

The goal of the South Texas Youth Career Exploration Event is to educate students about the variety of career opportunities in the region and the skills needed to acquire those jobs. Workforce Solutions for South Texas, in partnership with the City of Laredo, provided an exhibition of the industries which make up the South Texas Region, with a cross-section of 40 exhibitors from nearly every business sector including Manufacturing, Government-Public Safety, Finance, Construction, Hospitality, Healthcare, Restaurant, Transportation, Logistics, Education, Communications and more!

This event was a great opportunity for businesses to connect with the future workforce and encourage students to acquire the skills they will need to be successful in that industry, later.

Exhibitors presented an interactive environment for the students by creating workplace simulations. This motivated or sparked interest in fields students would not have considered if this event was not made available.
