ZHS Students Complete Industry Based Certifications
Zapata High School students enrolled in various Career Technical Education (CTE) Courses completed Industry Based Certifications (IBC) in their CTE courses this Fall semester. CTE programs offer a coherent sequence of courses that is aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education or careers. Furthermore, IBCs validate that the students possess a certain skill that was gained in their enrolled CTE course. Currently the following certifications are available for students: Microsoft Office Skills (MOS), American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 and 9.1, Non- commissioned Security Officer Level II, Servsafe Manager, Servesafe Food Handler, Pharmacy Tech, CPR, and Dental Assistant. More certifications are in the works for next semester.
