LTC Troy J. Ramirez enlisted as a Field Artillery Surveyor in August of 1989. Upon redeploying from Operation Desert Storm, PFC Ramirez attended and graduated from Officer Candidate School, in January 1992 (Class 1-92.) LTC Ramirez was Commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer and has since served in leadership positions from Company to Division level. He has commanded three times at the company level and has Battalion Command experience.
LTC Troy J. Ramirez retired from the United States Army on June 1, 2013 after a 23-year career. Upon his retirement, LTC Ramirez was accepted in the Army’s Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program as a Senior Instructor. He spent 4 years teaching, coaching, and mentoring the Volunteer Battalion of Robert E. Lee HS in San Antonio, Texas, May 2013 - Jun 2017.
LTC Ramirez possesses and Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics from Texas Lutheran University, a Master of Science Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University, and is a graduate of the Army’s Command and General Staff Course. LTC Ramirez is married to his wife Laura of 26 years. They have five children and 6 grandchildren. LTC Ramirez now resides as part of the great Zapata community.
